Raising funds Help the People of the Blackfeet Nation

During my week on the "Res," I spent some time visiting residents of the Blackfeet Care Center.

Goal: $2,000
$1,821 raised so far,   $179 to go!

Fundraising Deadline: 10/24/2010

For my Bat Mitzvah project, I spent a week working on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana. Although the people on the reservation are really nice, they are also really poor. To help them out, I am collecting funds for them. The funds will be distributed by Global Volunteers and used to assist the Blackfeet Care Center (a nursing home), the head start program, and/or Eagle Shields (a place that provides meals for elderly members of the tribe). If you want to learn more about my week, you can read my team journal here: http://www.globalvolunteers.com/usa/MontanaJournal.pdf .

I spent two days during my weeks delivering meals with Eagle Shields. Sean drove the truck.

As a private, non-profit organization independent from governmental and religious funding, Global Volunteers' programs are financed primarily by volunteer service program fees. Global Volunteers’ “paying volunteers” provide important support (labor and project funding) that is virtually out of reach for our host communities. Your contribution helps provide very important services to at-risk children and impoverished families the world over. 100% of your child sponsorship donation is tax-deductible. When you contribute to a volunteer’s service program, 50% of your donation is tax-deductible. Call us for details. Thank you for your support!
